Fitness versus Covid-19 and wildfires

2020 has definitely been quite a year. We thought it was challenging enough to have to cut off indoor access to many of our activities due to the Coronavirus-shutdowns, but with the wildfires coming around, we’re now between a rock and a hard place.

So now what?

Try exercise snacks.

An exercise snack is basically a mini-workout that you can slip into your schedule to help wake your body up and keep you moving. I know just how easy it can be to slide right off the wagon, especially for those busy workers out, even when a gym is smack-dab right in front of you.

These can be 5 reps, 5 minutes, or even a quick 15 minute workout. But the point is getting them in to help keep you moving!

Here are a couple simple bit-sized workouts (see what I did there?) that you can knock out by the desk, in the living room, or with the fam.

Workout 1

5 rounds
5 squats
10 lunges (5 on each side)
15 jumping jacks

Workout 2

5 minutes (set timer)
As many reps as possible
20 high knees
10 push ups
20 second plank

Workout 3

3 rounds each (total 3 minutes)
30 second mountain climbers
30 second plank jacks

Now I challenge you to team up with a partner, spouse, or coworker to team up and make sure you get at least one exercise snack in per work day. Let me know if you try it out!
